Profile of SakaiSakai city is located in the south from the center of Osaka with a population of about 840000 and it is the second largest city in terms of population and area in Osaka Prefecture. The city is well known for a wide variety of traditional crafts such as kitchen knives and incense sticks. It is also famous as a birthplace of Sen-no-Rikyu, a tea ceremony master and Akiko Yosano, a poet who established Japanese romantic style from late 19th to early 20th century. There are many temples and shrines, old houses and building, tea ceremony house, and traditional industries such as cutlery, incense and bicycle manufacturing in the city.
